From the desk of the president..... Bob#1 aka Bob Houk

From the inception of our club we have tried to make it as lighthearted as we can, and for the most part we have succeeded. There have over the years been great times and then the lull in activity that follows all great things.
When you join our club you must understand the philosophy of BOB. There must be in all we do fun and the willingness to work hardly at what we do. I have seen prospective members literally come alive when their membership certificates were presented. There have been tearful times when a person named Bob had passed away without ever becoming a member, but in all cases a solution was forthcoming as is the way with Bobs. Bobs are good and gracious people. They give of themselves and ask nothing in return. You've all worked for no pay just for the fun of it, and given to all those bell ringers at Christmas, and always stopped to help a car-load of head shaved youngsters at 2 in the morning in the Bronx. The only thing Bobs have trouble with is following THE RULES. Our club has only one RULE and that is to promote the club at every chance. Every time we meet another Bob we must ask if he is a member and if not then you as a member will provide him with the means to Join, such as a blank sheet of paper to write his membership request on.
I founded our club in 1994 in Seattle, Wa. It has been one of the most enjoyable accomplishments yet in my short lifetime. We started with 5 members and no money. Now after 5 plus years we have over 500 members and still no money, so we are abiding by rules of finance that all Bobs understand.
Our club membership includes 14 countries and all over the US, we have members in Government and the Clergy and the police and of course in all other lines of endeavor, you'll notice I don't use that work word.. We ahve been trying to meet our deadline for the newsletter to be published semi-centenially, it is a struggle but with Bob type perseverance it will be out on time.
If you have stuck with me through this long winded by-line Thank you.
